Are Elizabeth and Mary the same person? No death can be found for a first Elizabeth BEVAN or (wife) Mary BEVAN, and no marriage to Mary or a second Elizabeth. (It was not the marriage between Thomas BEVAN and Elizabeth MATHIAS 11 Apr 1812 in Fishguard, that is a separate family.) However, the marriage in 1800 is to Elizabeth, not Elizabeth Mary.
- Who was Joseph Thomas Gilbourne whose death was registered March quarter 1971 in Nottingham, giving a date of birth 23 August 1906? No corresponding birth registration has been found.
What happened to Robert GILBURN aka Robert PHILIPS or Robert PHILIPS GILBORNE between his baptism as Robert GILBURN in 1768 at Duffield, Derbys and his appearances in the 1841 and 51 censuses in Notts as Robert PHILLIPS. In 1851 he was described as unmarried, but had two PHILLIPS (though recorded as FILLIPS!) granddaughters staying with him. He was buried in 1855 as Robert PHILIPS GILBORNE, and his tombstone reads:
"A faithful parent slumbers here,
A Father and a Friend sincere,
With energy and courage fervant
Was 60 years a faithful and trusty servant",- yet no marriage for him has been found, and no children traced.
- Arthur William BLACKSHAW died 4 February 1939 in Worcester, and is still remembered by his grandchildren. Who then is the Arthur William BLACKSHAW who died in Coventry 29 July 1921? The birth of only one Arthur William BLACKSHAW can be found, and only one can be traced through the censuses. The death in 1921 was registered by his sister, Sarah Ann Denton, (shown on these pages as the sister of the Arthur William who died in 1939). The death in 1939 was registered by his wife, and her husband can be traced back to be the brother of Sarah Ann Denton. He can't have died twice, eighteen years apart!
Any help with these brick walls will be gratefully received!!
