NEW ENGLAND IN THE FALL - WITH THE FALLS AT NIAGARA
After a tour of the city of Boston and a whale-watching trip in Cape Cod Bay, we travel into the states of New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. In the small communities and on the slopes of the White Mountains, the autumn colours are at their spectacular best. Passing into Canada, we visit the Niagara Falls, including a very wet boat trip on the Maid of the Mist. (October 2008)

SPRINGTIME IN NORTHERN CYPRUS - wild flowers, scenery and ancient sites
We visited the Turkish part of Cyprus in late March and found the countryside full of colourful flowers, not least the fields of brilliant yellow Crown Daisies. The Cyprus Bee Orchid and other fascinating flowers grow nowhere else. Interesting ancient ruins abound. I will also touch on the problem of the divided island. (Visited 2008)

CAPTAIN CORELLI’S ISLAND
A ‘visit’ to the lovely Greek island of Kefalonia (Cephalonia). We stayed in the area where much of the well-known movie was filmed (though it is not necessary to have seen the film to enjoy this show). We explored colourful fishing harbours, scenic coastlines and wooded mountains, meeting wild goats and a praying mantis. Many groups have considered this a sun-filled antidote to a winter evening ! (Visited 2007)

A SICILIAN SUMMER includes visits to the cities of Syracuse (right) and Taormina; evocative ruins in the Valley of the Temples; some of the finest Roman mosaics to be seen anywhere; a garden full of flowers and butterflies; and an exciting visit to the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna. (Visited 2006)
