Born 1791, son of Charles Balshaw and Jane, of Burscough.
Baptised at Ormskirk parish church 26th August 1791.
Probably first married to Ann, (but don't know where or when). It is likely that she died giving birth to Charles in 1820 and that she was buried on 18th July 1820, age 24, the day before his christening. See likely memorial inscription.
Children: Charles, 1820.
Ann Cliffe, 26th December 1824 at Ormskirk. Witnessed by Frances Sherlock (who married his brother Ralph), and Ralph Balshaw, (presumably his brother). But see the notes on the page relating to his son Charles (link below).
Children: Jane and Richard, (source of this information is the will of his sister Nancy, 1863).
