12 Arnold Grove in Wavertree, Liverpool 15George Harrison was the youngest of the four Beatles and was born on the 25th of February 1943 at 12 Arnold Grove, Wavertree, Liverpool 15. His parents, Harold Harrison and Louise French were married on the 30th of May 1930 at Brownlow Hill Registry Office. George's father worked in the merchant navy and was at sea with the Liverpool based company White Star Line from 1926 to 1936.

In 1950, George moved to 25 Upton Green, Speke, Liverpool 24 with his parents. He was educated at the Liverpool Institute for Boys between 1954 and 1959. While there, he got interested in music and met Paul McCartney who was one year older. Paul later became a member of John Lennon's band called The Quarrymen, which George also eventually joined in 1958. He left school at 16 and worked as an apprentice electrician at Blacklers department store in downtown Liverpool for a period. However, when The Beatles were offered work in Hamburg in 1960, he went too but his first trip was cut short when he was deported for being underage. George's last recording session with The Beatles was on the 4th January 1970. With a large reserve of material he was unable to publish as part of the Beatles, he went on to have a successful solo career after the group's break-up.

George died with lung cancer aged just 58 years in California, USA on the 29th November 2001.
