2002 (Leicester Ring, plus Nottingham)

Four years ago we went for a fortnight, two years ago for a week, so this time we compromised and went for ten days — a compromise between the need to have a decent period to relax in, and the length of time some of the group were prepared to do without normal beds, baths and so forth.

We met, as usual, in Wantage, where I stayed overnight as usual, so that we could all set off together to pick up the boat. From here my diary takes up the story...
