Thomas Mossop, 1792-1850.

Born.

7th July 1792 at Church House Farm, Ponsonby, son of Isaac Moscrop and Frances (nee Suddard or Southward).  Baptised 8th July 1792 in Ponsonby, Cumberland.

Married.

Married Jane Irwin, 4th April 1814.

From the Cumberland Paquet" dated 12th April 1814 - Yesterday se'ennight, at St Bridget's, Beckermet, (by the Rev John Underwood) Mr Thomas Mossop of Church Farm, to Miss Jane Irwin, youngest daughter of Mr William Irwin, of Yottenfews, near Calder Bridge.

12 Children:  Francis baptised 19/2/1815; Jane baptised 2/3/1818; Peter 1819-1838 in Gosforth; Isaac born 24/4/1821 in Moss Side, Beckermet; Sarah born 11/9/1823; William born 19/6/1825; Thomas born 4/6/1827, died 22/6/1899; Elizabeth born 6/6/1829, died June 1829; John born 6/6/1830; Maria born 16/1/1833; Margaret born 16/4/1835 in Moss Side, Beckermet; James 1837-1869.

Occupation.

Farrier, or farmer, or cow doctor.

Died

23 August 1850 in Blackbeck Mill, Cumberland.  Buried 25 August 1850 in St Bridget's, Beckermet, Cumberland.

Notes

Mentioned in his mother's will, proven 1816, left £150.
