Carlton Marshes
Low flying Apache helicopters seem to have taken an unfortunate liking to the reserve lately, and this one is higher than many!

A second (or revisiting) GREAT REED WARBLER singing intermittently for one day on 2nd June was a bonus second chance after the first untwitchable one in May.

CATTLE EGRET Bubulcus ibis
Two were at Carlton Marshes briefly on the morning of the 2nd before flying north, with one on the morning of the 3rd as well also heading north.



GREAT WHITE EGRET Ardea alba
One was at Carlton Marshes on the 7th and 23rd.



SPOONBILL Platalea leucorodia

SWAN GOOSE Anser cygnoides
Three escaped/feral individuals of this east Asian species at Carlton Marshes on the 7th and 8th may have felt quite at home with all the Chinese Water Deer wandering around.

GREAT REED WARBLER Acrocephalus arundinaceus
One was singing along the River Waveney at Carlton Marshes on the 2nd. There has been no sight or sound of one in the area since the one at Whitecast Marsh on May 9th so it is presumably a different individual; although it could be the same one revisiting sites it has tried previously.



CROSSBILL Loxia curvirostra
One flew north at Lowestoft North Denes on the 7th.
