An adult WHITE-TAILED EAGLE flew south over Gapton Marshes and Carlton Marshes on the afternoon of the 30th.

A NIGHTINGALE was singing at Herringfleet on the 28th, and single TREE PIPITS were seen at Lowestoft North Denes and Carlton Marshes the same day. 

An
ALPINE SWIFT, that had started the morning in Sheringham, flew south along the coast past Corton and Lowestoft on the 27th.

N-WINGED TEAL Anas carolinensis
The drake found at Herringfleet Marshes on February 26th was still present on April 24th. Teal numbers present there were greatly reduced on the 25th, so it may have finally departed now.

WHITE-TAILED EAGLE Haliaeetus albicilla
One flew north over Oulton Broad on the 11th, it had first been seen on the Blyth estuary before heading north along the coast. Later in the afternoon it was seen at Winterton.

An adult flew south over Gapton Marshes and later Carlton Marshes on the afternoon of the 30th. It was later seen between South Cove and Benacre in the evening.

ALPINE SWIFT Tachymarptis melba
One that had spent the previous night in the Sheringham area of north Norfolk was then seen on the morning of the 27th heading along the coast past Overstrand, Trimingham, Eccles-on-Sea and Winterton before being seen at Corton, Gunton Warren and Lowestoft North Denes.

It then vanished, but having arrived in Lowestoft as rain showers arrived from the west, it may having taken shelter on a building, as previous individuals seen in Lowestoft have done in cold and wet conditions.

WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT Luscinia svecica cyanecula
An often elusive male was in the reed stubble beside the riverbank path at Herringfleet Marshes on the 6th. When disturbed it would fly to the riverside reeds or even across the river, but usually returned eventually. It was seen again early morning on the 7th but not subsequently.

A singing individual was found in Gunton Churchyard on the evening of the 23rd, and it was still present on the morning of the 24th. It was favouring the canopy of tall hollies so was rarely visible for long.

SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF Phylloscopus collybita tristis
A rather tatty moulting individual was found singing at Leathes Ham on the morning of the 26th March was still present on April 6th, by which time its moult had progressed well and it was looking much smarter.. It generally favours the reed mace and willows between the car park and the tennis courts.  A recording of the song of this individual is linked below.
