  A singing SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF was at Leathes Ham on the 26th to 31st, and t
he GREEN-WINGED TEAL was still present at Herringfleet Marshes on the 31st.

A pair of GARGANEY were at Leathes Ham on the 28th. Two RED KITES were at Ashby on the 28th, and several more were seen in the area on the 29th and 30th.


Our next get together will be this coming Thursday 4th April from 8pm at the Stanford Arms, Stanford Street, Lowestoft.

GREAT WHITE EGRET
Ardea alba
One was seen at dawn on the car park scrape at Carlton Marshes on the 1st before heading off towards the Castle Marshes area. It had presumably roosted there the night before, and on the evening of the 1st it did arrive at the egret roost. 
On the 2nd on leaving roost it spent some time on the main scrape before flying off to Wheatacre Marshes, and it returned to roost in the evening from the same direction.
It was seen leaving roost on the 3rd and heading towards the scrape at Carlton Marshes.
It also roosted on the evening of the 5th.



CATTLE EGRET
Bubulcus ibis
One came to roost at Carlton Marshes again on the evenings of the 1st and 2nd, and was seen heading off southward from roost on the 3rd.
It was also seen coming to roost on the evenings of the 6th and 10th.

The drake found at Herringfleet Marshes on February 26th was still present on March 31st.

GOOSANDER Mergus merganser
One flew towards Oulton Broad on the evening of the 6th.
Eight were at Carlton Marshes on the 14th.



WHITE-TAILED EAGLE Haliaeetus albicilla
The immature that roosted in Broadland on Friday evening flew south over Burgh Castle on the morning of the 23rd, heading over Belton, Waveney Forest then eastward to the Somerleyton/Blundeston area before heading back north again.

SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF Phylloscopus collybita tristis
A rather tatty moulting individual was found singing at Leathes Ham on the morning of the 26th and was still present on the 31st. It generally favours the reed mace and willows between the car park and the tennis courts.  A recording of the song of this individual is linked below.
