Tales of a Modern Barbie Fan Last updated: 21.07.01
I thought it was about time that I redid this site. I sort of forgot about it for a while as it had taken such a long time to get sorted out the first time and I just knew that a redesign would take me forever, but I've finally taken the bit between my teeth and got stuck in. I started my collection at Christmas 1999. I'd mentioned once or twice that I'd like to start a collection of Barbie dolls and a friend at work made sure that I had one of the Happy Holidays dolls in my Christmas bundle. Funnily enough, my sister had the same idea and I got one of the Generation Girls. That was it, I was off. It became a bit of an obsession for a while and my collection increased at a phenomenal rate of knots until I had about 50 dolls and I'd lost count of the number of outfits. As I've now discovered Ebay properly, I think it's safe to say that this page will be updated fairly regularly.
I've made some additions to the Fashion Avenue pages, playsets, collectors dolls and there's a new page for the Collectors Club, although
there are only two outfits on there. So far ....
My friends
will tell you that I'm one of those horribly organised people, so it
didn't take long before I'd started a catalogue of the dolls and
outfits. It didn't take me long to realise that there is quite a
market for the dolls and the outfits but, sadly, more in the US than in
the UK. I've found a number of excellent links in the UK however and
they're on the links page. If
