SMITH FAMILY HISTORY

Ronald Smith (b.1914) was living at 15 Madryn Street, Liverpool 8 on the 29th of March 1935 when he obtained insurance for his Rudge Whitworth 350cc motorcycle (registration KF 338). He was still living there in 1939 when he married his first wife in Wavertree. His mother Minnie remained in this house until her death in the early 1960s.

Three doors away from number 15 lived the Starkey family where famous son Ricahrd Starkey AKA "Ringo Starr" was born at number 9 on the 7th of July 1940. The Starkeys moved to nearby Admiral Grove when Ringo was about age 4. Therefore, the Starkeys would certainly have been neighbours to our family for a time.
