About the Company.

Work-Toolhire ltd was founded in October 1983 by Denis Waters, who realised that there were very few hire companies considering the large element of industrial and chemical plants in the South Wales area. Initially, Work-Tool Hire ltd dealt purely in the hire of Hilti Power Tools as well as trestles and staging.

However, the business was soon to expand as Work-Tool Hire's reputation grew. Having secured contracts with various Blue Chip companies, Work-Tool Hire developed further and in 1985 re-located to their existing premises in Commercial Road.

Following the opening of another depot based in Neath, more emphasis was placed on serving mechanical engineering companies as opposed to civil engineering and construction companies. This led to the introduction of a number of specialist equipment ranges which include Factair breathing-air systems, Safe-air testers, Gas monitors and Rescue equipment. Supplying contractors in South Wales and the West of England, Work-Tool Hire are the first Company in the U.K to offer such a Hire Service.

As part of our continuing commitment to respiratory protection in hazadous working enviroments we also Train and Certify operators in the safe use of Breathing-air Compressors and all anncillary equipment. We can train upto 10 people at a time and courses not only cover the operating of the equipment but safety awarness, safety at work and confirmed space entry. Operators are normally certificated in 12 months and then undertake a refresher course.

During a trip to America, Denis Waters became familiarised with the Caldo cutting torch. Impressed by its flexiblility and efficency as an all purpose maintenaince tool, steps were taken to include this product within Work-Tool Hire's portfolio. Work-Tool Hire are now the sole distributor in the U.K and Ireland and have 10 torches available at any one time. In total we have sold 50 torches over the last 2 years. Having appointed a number of welding distributors, Work-Tool Hire are currently looking to appoint more dealers particularly in Ireland.

With a significant number of engineering plants in the South Wales region using our services, Work-Tool Hire can confidently offer the largest range of air and hydraulic tool in the area along with lifting and jacking equipment.
