26 March 1865 Married at the parish church in the parish of New Brentford, Middlesex. Thomas was working as a painter. Thomas's father was a coachman and Mary's a gardener. Register of marriages: Mar 1865, TAGG, Thomas, Brentford, 3a 50

The church was St. Lawrence, on the south side of Brentford High Street. It has existed for more than 800 years, first as a chapel, then the parish church. It was rebuilt in 1762 and closed in 1961.

Paul Smith's dictionary of Archaic Medical Terms describes phthisis as pulmonary tuberculosis or any debilitating lung or throat problem such as ashma.
