Swing riots including:

  • wage meetings, riots and robbery in nearby Hampshire parishes
  • conviction and transportation of a George ARLETT (no known relation) from Berkshire.

14 January 1845 Ann buried in Church Oakley at the age of 44. She died of dropsy From S.A.Forster's one name study - Elwick Burials.
22 November 1846 Arthur buried in Church Oakley at the age of 20. He died of consumption. From S.A.Forster's one name study - Elwick Burials.
17 October 1847 George (senior) buried in Church Oakley at the age of 50. He died of consumption. From S.A.Forster's one name study - Elwick Burials.
29 April 1858

Ellen married James SANDOM in the Parish Church, Deane. James was working as a shepherd and Ellen was working as a servant.

The witnesses were George and Charlotte Elwick, probably her brother and sister.
