For a class of train designed to be a 'stopgap' measure before the electrification of the Oxted lines, the class 207s proved to be remarkably long lived, although their non-corridor design was obsolete even as they entered service.

Whatever the future brings for the Wealden Line Campaign, it seems unlikely that these trains will ever again be seen at Barcombe Mills.
