East Sussex County Council's Central Rail Corridor proposals are based on the Wealden Line Campaign's plan for a restored Wealden Line. This can be created simply by reopening 7 miles of track between Uckfield and Lewes and a further 4.5 miles between Eridge (Birchden Junction) and Tunbridge Wells.

Apart from two very short sections, for which practical plans have already been made, the necessary trackbed still exists.

All that is needed are the rails!
