This view looking north-east from the top of the South Downs shows how the route would be rebuilt into Lewes.
The pink dots mark the route of the main electrified London line.
The blue dots mark the route of the 1868 approach into Lewes, seen in the previous shots, and which has now been lost for good as a rail corridor.
The yellow dots mark a possible route for a re-opened Wealden Line, generally corresponding to the original 1858 alignment into Lewes and making a junction with the existing electrified main line from Eastbourne and Lewes to London.
The substantial building to the left of this view from Offham Hill is Hamsey House.
