Malling cutting - April 2003

The view towards Uckfield from the southern end of the cutting. The triple-arched bridge in the middle distance carried the access lane to Malling Church over the railway.

There are two photographs taken from this bridge in our photo archive: one from the 1950s, and one from the last days of the line in early 1969. Because of the sycamores that have grown up on the route over the last 30 years, meaningful comparison shots are no longer possible. (Grid Ref. TQ 415 109)
