One of the half-hourly East Grinstead services pulls into the station.

These services are normally provided by a fleet of 90mph 4-VEP (Class 423) electric multiple units - as seen here.

Although some members of this class were built as recently as 1974, they will soon go the same way as the crumbling DEMU fleet. This is because the Health and Safety Executive has ordered the withdrawal of this Mk1-derived stock within the next few years. (Grid Ref. TQ 394 529)
