Uckfield - Behind 10 years' growth of buddleia and saplings, demolition of the former station is well under way on 28 November 2000. Almost half the station house has already succumbed to the contractors' digger.
Note the (faded) red lamp standard at the extreme right of the picture, a legacy of the short-lived 'Network SouthEast' period. The entire site is now hidden from view behind a high new fence. (Grid Ref. TQ 473 209)
