Selsdon - 1978

A peak-hour London Bridge - East Grinstead service gathers speed past the semi-derelict station, having just left the Brighton line at South Croydon -- which lies less than half a mile to the north.

To the right can be seen the electrified route to Elmers End, which was to close in May 1983.

As can be seen, Seldon originally had four platforms -- but those for the Uckfield line had long been overshadowed by the much better served South Croydon and had last seen passengers in the 1950s.
