Eridge - 1983

A London Bridge train formed by an East Sussex DEMU (class 207) heads north from Eridge. Shortly afterwards, the Tonbridge service, waiting in the loop behind it will follow it to Birchden Junction before heading off towards Tunbridge Wells.

The obsolete signalling arrangements here meant that although Tonbridge trains could arrive in the bay platform on the left, they could not depart from it with passengers on board.
