A class 33 diesel electric locomotive, having run around the stock of the 17.20 ex-London Bridge, cautiously approaches what was the rear of its train, intently watched by some local children.

The canopies seen in the earlier photos were removed during the 1970s as they became unsafe through neglect. Note the bus-shelter style waiting room on the London platform, which replaced the former wooden structure.
