Tunbridge Wells West - December 1985

Already in an advanced state of decay at the time of closure, the station presented a depressing picture as the autumn of 1985 faded into winter and the rails gathered rust.

Just prior to closure, an unknown humourist had written 'for sale' in large letters on the side of the corrugated iron platform shelter. Now it has been replaced by the word 'sold' -- just visible to the right of the canopy column.
