Fine art, uniquely presented on Fine Bone China Picture Plates.
All the images represented here as plates are taken from original watercolours commissioned by Royal Doulton for their sole use on fine bone china picture plates. They (the unsold original works) remain the property of the artist.
The original works are large watercolours image size approximately 20" x 28". They are presented in, conservation quality, hand painted, wash and line mounts in the finest quality frames. The approximate overall framed size of these works is 35" x 40" and the price range is between £1500. and £3000. Several of the paintings remain unfinished and unframed. Those marked with a red spot have been sold, those marked with a green spot are still available for sale.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

                Royal Doulton's origins and history, together with its numerous collectable products, are the subject of many and varied publications. Specialist books for the serious Royal Doulton collector can be found on the shelves of all good bookstores and access to most of them is available here in association with Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

Visits to the Royal Doulton factory in Nile street Burslem are an unmissable item on the itinerary of the many Royal Doulton enthusiasts who visit Stoke-on-Trent every year, information for these can be obtained from Royal Doultons own web site.
Royal Doulton collector plates and Royal Doulton picture plates are available from most good china, porcelain and glassware stores all over the world. As indeed are Royal Doulton figurines, tableware and Royal Doulton flambe products. The Royal Doulton picture plates featured here are also available from Hood and Broomfield Fine Art the artist's agents. The artist Anthony Forster was employed by Royal Doulton from 1959 to 1967 as a ceramic artist and for most of that time as an artist in the prestigious Royal Doulton flambe department. During his time with Royal Doulton of Nile street Burslem, Stoke on Trent, he was an active member of the Royal Doulton Art Society, being a member of the hanging committee for several years. He exhibited regularly in the Royal Doulton Art Society's annual exhibition and was often included in the list of prizewinners.
