If you set out to express romantic feelings in standard MIDI, you are in trouble, especially if you were brought up on the symphony orchestra. The sounds are not there, the human element in performance is all too obviously missing. In this and other pieces in slower tempo, I seek a believable "mechanical" equivalent, like the robots with unauthorised emotions in Isaac Asimov's tales.
