Much Ado about Nothing, Act V Scene 4, last lines

Strike Up, Pipers!
Taking its name from the charmingly zany conclusion of Much Ado, this is a friendly argument between a country-dance and a waltz beat. It's like that optical illusion by which a hollow cube is seen, now as the inside, now the outside, of a box. You can hear the music in jig-time or in waltz-time, or switch from moment to moment, making each hearing a different experience (assuming anybody listens to it more than once). |
