BOSCH
On the 25th sept 2006 we purchased a fridge freezer BOSCH from a Curry’s store, Unfortunately on Fri 25th May 2007 we noticed that the fridge section was not cooling, I phoned Curry’s and after many calls and being transferred to one person and another at cost to me, as these were 0870 numbers, I finally got told a engineer would arrive on Wednesday 30th May 2007.
The engineer arrived on that day, he unplugged the unit and plugged in a test unit to measure the current, that was all he did, he never even looked round the back. He told us that this unit was a early design and that the fan was noisy and that these have now been replaced with DC fans instead of AC fans and the unit will be replaced under warranty, he also said that the freezer part of the unit would be ok until the replacement is sent, he also said we would get a letter to say a date for the exchange, that would arrive in a couple of days.
The next day Thursday 31th May 2007 at approx midday, we noticed that the freezer had stopped working and the food the wife had brought in the morning was ruined, I had the engineers number and called him only to be told there is nothing he can do, he gave me a number to call, again a 0870 number, again after being passed around was told I would have to get back on to Curry’s.This is now getting unacceptable, and costing me money.
I then get back on to Curry’s, they wanted numbers from the paperwork which were not there and I was told to come to the store to sort it out the next day being 1st June 2007, now more expense to me. On the 1st June at 9.15am we arrived at the Curry’s store, the chap there was doing he’s best to sort this out and he called bosch, but they said it would take a week to replace the item, I said that it was still unacceptable, also we noticed that what the engineer had written on the paperwork was not what he had told us, and bosch told us a different story, so who do we believe. The manager was unavailable so we came home with still nothing sorted out. When we arrived home there was a message on our answer phone from bosch to say a replacement would arrive Friday 8th June, this is still a unacceptable length of time.
It’s now 11.30am 1st June and we have had a call from Curry’s to go back and see the manager. More expense to me. At 2pm we went back to Curry’s and they were very helpful and understanding, and we have now purchased a new fridge freezer of a different brand, which was delivered on 5th June. We are disgusted with Bosch`s lack of support and feel that the engineer should have got on to Bosch and that they should have replaced this within 2 days, not saying we have to wait for letters etc, it is unacceptable. We have also encored costs that amount to around £60, that’s food that we lost and expenses having to make phone calls on 0870 numbers and travel costs. I wrote to Bosch a day later and as yet never received a reply. We are just so disgusted with their service, or lack of would be more to the point.
Footnote: Had a letter on July 14th saying they will refund us £60, that covers our lost food, but will they ever do anything
about the after sales service. On 30th July 2007 we received a cheque for £60. why do you have to complain before you get action, I would still think twice before using them unless their after sales service improves.

In march 2005 I called this Mr Johnson for a estimate for some work to look at my central heating system, as two radiators where not working, I also said I would like some thermostat valves fitted, we were quoted £600 which I thought was a bit steep, but the way costs are these days you just don't know, perhaps I should have done some research first. Anyway we said OK, he said he will have to put a chemical in the system for two weeks, and sent a chap round who partly drained the system and put X400 sludge remover in, well, that's what he said. Mr johnson then ask for a deposit of £200, which we gave him. Within the next two weeks we had a setback, one of our cats fell ill and we had to spend out on vet bills, I phoned Mr Johnson and explained the problem and said that we could not have any more work done till later in the year and could he only charge us for the work done and refund us the difference, two days later I received a invoice for a lot of made up rubbish and claiming that I owe him another £30. I then emailed a few companies to find out the cost of draining the system and putting the chemical in, it turns out that its £55 to £70, I then wrote to Mr Johnson informing him that I had some quotes from other companies and also informed him that I had notified the trading standards and that he had seven days to refund the money. Six days went by and I received £40 back, two twenty pound notes in the envelope, did he think that this was going to shut me up, No, it wont and he has now admitted guilt as far as I am concerned, and he still owes me £100.
As a final note, he wanted £45 each for fitting the thermostat valves, these are £5 to £6 at any DIY store and to top all that, the radiators that did not work, still don't. ................Rip off.
I then took the radiators of myself and flushed the system, also found some blocked pipes, cleaned them
out, also went to the local plumbers store and got some new radiators valves for about £2.50 each and
fitted them, also got a new pump for £55 and fitted that. the system is now working better then it ever
did and cost me less than £75, put a inhibitor in and thats it.
Since then I have replaced all the radiator valves and fitted two thermostat valves, in all its cost less than £150, he wanted
£600 for less work. I have told the trading standards about this, so lets hope no one else gets ripped off.

I brought a monitor from this bunch, only to find it had a fault when it arrived, I contacted them and they said its now Samsung you should contact. so I got hold of Samsang and they said they would replace it in 48 hours, two weeks later after lots of emails, I contacted Ebuyer and told them they would have to take it back because I was feed up with Samsung, After a week of emails it was collected. nearly a month went past before I received my refund. I had to threaten them with legal action.

Gordan Harwoods
Another company that was again very bad, we nick named them Gordan (Next week) Harwoods,
as every time you called them they said "Will be in next week". I ordered a accelerator card from them back in the Amiga days and waited almost two months for it.
Now they sell PC`s, but I would not use them.
