Survival Skills attracts riders from all from over the UK for advanced training - and riders have come to us from France , Canada and Senegal for training!

Practical Riding Courses

If you're comfortable with your machine, look at our advanced Survival Skills, Bends and SuperCourses. Our Traffic course is based on 16 years of courier experience and will appeal to commuters. Our Confidence Builder Course is suitable for newly qualified riders, or those moving up to a bigger machine. If you're coming back to biking, take a look at our Creaky Rider course. If you just want a riding assessment we'll give you an honest opinion, and Group Training in advanced techniques is also available for clubs and small groups of friends.

Don't take our word for it - 10 years plus of references!
See what our trainees have said since we started keeping references in 1998!

In over a decade in post-test training, Survival Skills has taught newly qualified riders, riders with years of riding time but no formal post-test training, IAM associates & observers and even police riders and drivers looking for a 'non-job' perspective on advanced riding.

"I've done Bikesafe & dabbled with the IAM, but the most practical & genuinely lifesaving training experience I've had was via 'Spin the HippySapian'.

"Not exciting, quite tiring, and at the time I felt the geography of the training made his methods slightly redundant for a London rider, but time proved that reservation to be totally wrong, the course was short and intense but implanted deep subliminal awareness."

Hearing Difficulties?
Survival Skills has considerable experience in training riders with hearing problems or other disabilities - all courses can be run without the use of a radio.

Our Great Escape Adventure Training sessions are more than riding courses, they're great riding experiences too, combining learning skills with challenging roads!!

No special emphasis is placed on speed or 'progress' as a goal, so our courses are equally suitable for recreational riders, riders who prefer touring and those who plan to use a motorcycle for commuting.

"Kevin takes a pragmatic approach to advanced rider training. He's not trying to turn out IAM approved riders, but to teach techniques that help real motorcyclists deal with real situations in a practical way. He doesn't preach, doesn't lay down dogmatic rules about 'the way' to do it, but just shows you a variety of different techniques to defend yourself on the road and to improve your cornering, overtaking, and observation. His approach to riding is methodical but not mechanical."

If you know there are areas of your riding that could be improved, if you feel that you have plateau'd, or simply would like a different point of view from mainstream advanced training, then why not drop us a line about a course and see what we can offer?
