The notes on page 2 form part of these accounts.

For the year ending December 31st 2004 the company was entitled to exemption under section 249A(1) of

the Companies Act 1985. No members have required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts

for the year in question in accordance with section 249B(2). The Directors acknowledge their responsibility for:

i) Ensuring the company keeps accounting records which comply with section 221; and ii) Preparing accounts which

give a fair view of the state of the company and of its profit and loss for the financial year in accordance with

section 226, and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act relating to accounts, so far

as applicable to the company.

The amount shown as eligible for gift aid is that due on 31/12 in respect of tax year 2004-5, thus it

does not include any amount in respect of January to March, 2004. See also Note 6.

Note 4. Grants

Grant payments

£5896.86 (equivalent to 481,032 Rupees)

We specified that we should pay all charges but Sangam Foundation's bank charged an additional 1078 rupees,

hence SF received 479954 net.

Our bank charges (all relating to transmission of funds to S.F.) were £150.00

Note 5. Debtors.

Inland Revenue. We anticipate receiving £707, being 22/78 of £2507 (see note 3 above) under the Gift

Aid scheme from the Inland Revenue as refund of tax paid on donations by donors who have provided us

with a Gift Aid Declaration.
