Experience. I have been a candidate in many elections, both local and national, for the Green Party. At these times and others I have attended the count as a scrutineer. I have general familiarity with safe office procedures.
As an independent traveller, used to local transport and modest hotels, I have travelled at low cost: in 2000 I camped under the stars in the Egytian Western Desert, in 2001-2 for 12 months around the world, in January/February 2004 in Sri Lanka and India. (I did not travel much in SL, staying mainly in Kandi), but I travelled in hill tribes areas in India for 2 to 3 weeks; in novemebr 2004 I travelled independantly in the West Bank, also worked with Israeli and Palestinian Peace and Justice organisations.
I do not have time to tailor a CV to match your interests but will include a general one.
Availability. I have airline tickets which I cannot alter which involve departing for New York from Bristol on 21st November, so I must get back in good time for that.
Also I have a meeting in Bristol on 20th at 1430 which I very much hope I will be able to attend as a. I am the vice chair and b. I have to give a report. However this could be missed if essential to your needs.
Otherwise I am available from 8th November.
Funding. I have savings which I hope not to have to use. I have been offered £400 so far and hope to find the remainder.
Last time I did something like this I booked a flight quickly to secure a cheap fare (actually it was Air Sri Lanka, to Delhi) but then was unable to get funds that I had been assured i could have. So now I am unwilling to book a flight unless sure of funding and that you will accept me.
Yours faithfully
Stephen Petter
