Bangers and the Incarace 12 on 12 had been cancelled.. 'Til next year, so it was classed as a fun meeting. Granadaland had brought a stretch  erm Granada . All black and sexy .. The Levellers had a few cars too as did the usual invasion by the
Invaders (112 cars today - or there abouts) . Team Motley Krew had some new additions in their team , inc. a junior banger car.. The Steeles were not here , either scared , or doing something else ( something else .. Ed.) Ahh. But a good day was to be had by most. Heat one and only 16 cars lined up , but what a race , 69 Mark Bass in a very bent (to start with) estate , got well and truly stuck in... To 666 Andy Pennington (TMK) who had a go back and so it continued , until Mark twa.. err hit a Motley car and was then duly clobbered by another TMK car (Andy informed me it was him) ... Marks car had a nice right angle at the back.. All three were out and the win was claimed by 691 with 949 Tony (T-Bone) Fideo second and 292 Steven Greenwood third.. Heat two and car 300 of the Levellers clobbered the invader of 515 in a massive (at the time) hit.. There had been 8 Invaders in this race and out of 21 starters it looked impressive to say the least ( I learnt that they having a meeting off next time - the pit will be quieter for that - in not a good way :)) anyway heat two was won by 815 Lee
Farrington with 518 Jon Woods and 108 following ... 17 cars in the consolidation race.. and that twa.. err fool car 300 of the levellers does his crushing act on 315 Simon... The red flag out and a result given as 516 (an Invader ) first and 504 Andy Jones second ... Mark Bass in a straighter car than started the first heat ended up with a very bent car again , about 108
degrees (according to my protractor - and you wonder why you had to use em at school Eh ??)  The DD was a very damp affair , as was the day - did I mention.. oh sorry.. 5 starters and three out at once in the pit exit door.. two left and a nice head on . despite one car not moving , the driver of that car daring the other to hit him... "come and have a go if you think you are hard enuff".. ooops Robbie mode then.. The other car won... My pen by that time had given up and I have no idea who it was -- sorry.. :((    But you won £25 for your troubles :))  "Oh oh twenty five poundsssss"
And that was that .. I think we all agree that it was a good call to cancel the Grand Nationals.. and that it rained.. Did I ment.. OK sorry.. When I got back to my car I found that Ant's Metro had been pushed on the trailer so far that my front tyres were almost off the ground.. Thanks to the Invaders who gave us a hand in moving it back so I could steer on the way home.. A nightmare journey home , with every item of clothing I had on soaked... the heater on and the straps keep loosening on the metro , one falling off.. Why do we do it ????  cause we are mad ???? Cause we Love it ??? Both !!!! I got home at well past 9PM and stripped off - everything was sodden and after a quick change I sat down and wrote this .. Bed at 3AM ??
I must be the mad one :)))  (I did watch the US Grand Prix mind - that was a good race too)
