The Weibull help page has moved to this location.
The Weibull distribution is used for example to describe the lifetime of objects in quality control and for the description of wind speeds and other natural phenomena. Special cases of the Weibull function are the exponential distribution used to study waiting times); the Rayleigh distribution (used to study the scattering of radiation, wind speeds or to make certain transformations) and the log-Weibull distribution (to study the limiting distribution for the smallest or largest values in samples). Yet other names are the Fisher-Tippett distribution, extreme value distribution and Gumbel's distribution.
