At Rigged Hill, south-east of Limavady town, there is a
Wind Farm with ten 500 kW
turbines producing energy equivalent to the electricity requirements of 13,000 homes.

The River Roe was used to provide water power for the local linen industry and in the Roe Valley Country park
is the restored 1896 Power House
used to make Limavady the first town in the country to be
lighted by electricity.
The famous walking route "The Ulster Way" passes through the Borough. It is clearly signposted and
walking all or part of its path through the area is highly recommended.
Since 1996 Limavady Borough has been officially twinned with
Vigneux-sur-Seine
a town of around 22,000 people situated south of Paris, in the outer suburbs.
It is approximately 10kms from Orly Airport and 25kms from the centre of Paris.
Vigneux has extensive green areas and lakes within it's boundaries
and these are used for a wide variety of leisure activities.
Limavady also has close ties with the popular resort of
Westport Co. Mayo.
There is a Multi-Lateral Friendship Agreement between the Borough of Limavady,
their French twin Vigneux-sur Seine and the town of Troyan in Bulgaria.
Troyan
is a town with a population of 25,000, situated on the banks of the Beli Osam
river in Central Bulgaria.
