Advertsongs - Music used in advertising

The why and how of advertsongs

Do you like to know the identity of the music used in television ads these days?
If so you probably know how difficult it can be to find this information.

So to help other music obsessives out there I have put together this site that allows you to search for music by;
  • brand
  • lyrics
  • advert imagery
  • song or band name
  • anything else you can think of!

Note that most of the stuff on this site will be restricted to the advertising shown in the United Kingdom, that's Britain, just to be clear.
However I post up ads no matter what the country of origin.  Check out Search tips and Links for information on US adverts.

So if you have a question about the music used in a particular ad e.g. you want to know WHO the music is by then just go to the home page and try your luck with a search.

I have lots of ideas for content on this site and I would invite you to help contribute by:

  • submitting details of songs and artists along with the adverts that they have been heard in for inclusion in the advert songs database
  • post your questions so others may provide answers
  • give me all your useful feedback!

In association with Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com

I have signed up as an associate with Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com. This means that when you find some music you have the opportunity to buy a CD that (almost always) features the music used in the ad. I have always found Amazon to be first rate in every way so I thoroughly recommend their site. If you do click on my links and then subsequently make a purchase I receive a small commission. Many thanks for any such purchases as they help offset the cost of maintaining and running the site.

Privacy policy

You have nothing to fear on my site when it comes to your online privacy! This site does not use cookies or any tracking mechanisms and any data I post up has been submitted by users via e-mail or the message board. I don't maintain a list of e-mails or names because I don't see a need. The only commercial aspect of the site are my Associate links and you are free to simply ignore those.
At the time of writing (1 Dec 2002) I would like to move the site to a new host and implement lots of funky and dynamic features using PHP (see www.php.net for more details on this neat technology). This might mean, for example, using cookies to increase the interactive parts of the site. If that happens I will be sure to let visitors know in this section. Let me stress though that no nefarious schemes are being hatched! These changes would be to improve the content and interactivity of the site as well as making it easier to update.
