The photograph was passed to Rowland by Nancy Anderson, 1st cousin and dear friend of Rowland's mother, in December 1995, just before her own death in January 1996. Nancy related that Margaret Nevin was named after an aunt - the wife of her mother's favourite brother Rev Alexander McCloud Staveley Lyons.
Note that Margaret Nevin Kelly and her husband James Biggart were full cousins on the Lyons side.
Note also that after Margaret Nevin Kelly's early death, James Biggart married Minnie Carson, an older sister of the two men who would later both in turn marry his daughter Nancy Lamont Biggart. One curious consequence of this is that Rowland's aunt Minnie was also his step-grandmother.
