Tailplane stand: 2002 02 09.

This stand, originally intended to provide support for the TP2 foam pieces while I worked on the outboard rib layup, has proved to be useful for parking the finished tailplanes. The split mahogany blocks are screwed to the plywood base and clamp onto the plastic pipes.

The TP2 foam parts ready for the outboard rib layup. Clearly visible is the rebate into which the rib will neatly fit (it says in the manual). The TP5 and TP6 sleeves, inside the BID sleeve, are installed.

Here are the completed outboard rib layups. Note the liberal use of masking paper to prevent resin running down the rest of the foam surfaces.
