Port tip flange misalignment

Port wingtip flange distortion

Port wingtip flange distortion: 2008-03-28

Nikon Coolpix 8400

Looking forward along the edge of the port wing tip moulding towards the spar and forward skin. The flange of the tip moulding is not level, but has been bonded to the forward skin at a slight angle. Note the Redux layer between flange and skin is thick at the left and tapers down to nothing at the right. This tilt prevents the top skin (withdrawn to the right in this picture) from bedding down properly. There was no such problem with the starboard wing tip, so I don't have a good comparative picture.
