air line connectors: 2008-04-19
Nikon Coolpix 8400
The bad (left) and the good (right) of 1/4" BSP airline connectors. The one on the left was found on a Clarke brand air hose from Machine Mart. The taper appears to have been cut off with a hacksaw, and it is just too big to mate properly with a normal matching connector. This was already a replacement hose. The first one was returned because the ends fell out when the nuts were tightened. You can see that the one on the left is in danger of doing the same, because the end is almost the same diameter as the hose barb, leaving a flange of about 0.3mm for the nut to catch.
