30 Skene Row was where the family lived when George Milne Smith was born on Burns Night - 25th of January 1859 the son of Robert Smith and Euphemia (nee Milne).

Skene Row no longer exists but was off Skene Street at the Rosemount Viaduct end and is shown on this 1900 map adjacent to the letter N in St.Nicholas parish (city of Aberdeen).

By 1861, the family had moved to nearby Woolmanhill.
