Robert Smith was born about 1822 and was from Foveran, Aberdeenshire. On the 7th of March in 1844, he married Euphemia Milne at Mannofield, Aberdeen. Robert worked for the Caledonian Railway Company.

Robert Smith died in 1905 when he was living at 317 Hardgate, Aberdeen.
