73 Cullen Street, Liverpool 8 was the family address when Ronald Smith Senior was born on the 6th of November 1914, the son of George Thomas Smith and Minnie Bryan. The photo on the right shows the odd numbered side of Cullen Street and number 73 is the one with the cream coloured drainpipe. The family were still living at this address when George Thomas Smith died with TB, aged only 31 years on the 6th of February 1918. Minnie later married Thomas Perry of 55 Cullen Street on the 25th of July 1924, though by then she had moved to 8 Wesley Street.

The photo on the left shows mother (Minnie Bryan) holding Ronald Smith Senior next to father George Thomas Smith and on the far right first son George Smith in 1915 and is likely to have been taken in the back yard of 73 Cullen Street or if not, somewhere nearby. Ronald Smith Senior and older brother George represent the second generation of our Smiths born in Liverpool.
