Sometimes known as "Ted" or "Teddie" he later lived at Neston, Merseyside, England. As a child he went to Beaufort Street Board School in Liverpool 8 as did his sister Sarah Randale. He was a silversmith and was trained by a "Mr Palace", a Greek ambassador and artist who had a studio at Neston. Ted married a woman from Heswall who worked for Lord Leverhume at his mansion Leverhume Hall.
