The East Pool mine winding engine house, originally known as Michells Whim, is near Camborne, Cornwall. East Pool stands in an area central to the once thriving Cornish mining industry, with many derelict remains to be found nearby. The beauty of the building is in its rugged and functional industrial architecture, typical of so many mine buildings now in ruins. The engine, built in 1887 and the engine house are now in the care of Cornish Mines and Engines, a section of the National Trust.
