ModelKraft 2007
Milton Keynes Scale Model Club                       4th February 2007
Another successful show, the fourth year that the UK Card Modellers Group have attended this event. Represented this time by Mike Stamper, David Hathaway, Graham Dixey, Doug Paper and myself.
The event becomes larger every year, with the result that we were squeezed out of our usual spot and given space in an area away from the main hall. We had plenty of space, but perhaps because we were a little off the beaten track, we had less than our usual throughput of visitors. But nevertheless an interesting successful and enjoyable day.

We managed to fill eight tables. Unfortunately our photography is
not as good as our model making. Some of these are Mike’s pics,
some are mine. The first is a general view along the table. In the distance are plenty of my Canon models, including Himeji Castle. For a close up, see here!
And this was Mike’s end of the table. The Tower of Pisa drew much attention, as did the beautiful Schreiber Berlin Cathedral.
And note in the background, the Unseen University!
One of Mike’s very fine Minibox models
And a detail of the Unseen University. This received much attention during the day, from Terry Pratchett fans. An impossible model to photograph, as the tower will never fit into the picture! More pics here
We had space to spread ourselves out. David’s Paper Shipwright fleet had a couple of tables of their own, with one of Doug’s ships in the background. David’s increasing collection of lighthouses are shown above.
This was my FG Hawker Hunter landing in front of the Globe Theatre
And a pair of Canon Cheetahs in front of Mont St.Michel, all obscuring the view of Graham’s contributions behind.
Two attractive little cars, PMI’s ERA and Ichiyama’s Bugatti, scaled up to 1:20
And my little group of WWI biplanes.
Our thanks to the organisers, the
Milton Keynes Scale Model Club.
We all had an enjoyable day, and have already begun planning our campaign for next year!
