Ward, Lock, not dated but carries a slip regarding the missing maps due to 'continued shortage of materials' which would suggest somewhere between 1947 and 1950? 6½" x 4½", 208pp plus 24 (approx. but they are all there) plates, red cloth, black blocking, hardback. Illustrated with monochrome photographs. Lacks all maps as issued; frontispiece map replaced with slip reading 'In response to an urgent demand the Publishers have re-issued a limited nuimber of copies of this edition of their well-known Handbook to the Riviera. They regret, however, that owing to a continuted shortage of materials, it has not been possible to include the usual set of Maps'. All plates are present, though. Spine split along back-edge for 3¾" from foot then across centre of spine, leaving it as a 'flap'; also spine split along back-edge 2" from top, which leaves just 1" approx. left of spine/back-board joint; slight edge-foxing, good (no inscriptions, no bumps, not ex-library) no wrapper.
