Bell and Sons, May 1915 reprint. 8¼" x 5½", 72pp plus 20 plates plus 2pp Bell's book-list, light-blue buckram, black blocked lettering, oval front-board onlay drawing of the famous statue, hardback. Illustrated with 4 colour and 16 monochrome plates (all present) by Alice B. Woodward. Looks to be ex-library (remnants of number-sticker at foot of spine, rubber-stamp in top-front corner of front paste-down, various library-looking references on front endpapers; but that's it, no other library marks or damage from removed lending-lists etc); spine dulled/'dusty'; boards sunned round all edges; slight page edge browning to text pages; pages 7-10 loose as 1 piece (not wragged at all); plate facing page 22 loose (not wragged); plate facing page 30 loose with ½" margin-tear to front-edge and very slightly wragged; plate facing page 44 loose and a little wragged round edges; the odd internal fox-spot or mark; good only; NO wrapper.

Spine slightly sunned; splits along spine edges, especially back-edge, but not 'flapping' yet; other slight edge-wear; heavy bump to top-front corner of front-board; other corners slightly rounded; circular label with initials at head of front paste-down; W. H. Smith Subscription Library label on front paste-down; name written in top-front corner of verso of front-free endpaper; crossed out, neatly, name and date in top-front corner of half-title; embossed stamp at head of title-page; slight marks to covers; good only but servicable and perfectly adequate; no wrapper.
