Alcott, Louisa May - Little Women. Books, Inc. New York. Not dated, inscribed 1948. Art-Type Edition, The World's Popular Classics. 8ź" x 5ź", 412pp, blue buckram, black blocking, hardback. The wrapper has a colourised shot of Katharine Hepburn, Joan Bennett, Frances Dee and Jean Parker (if I remember correctly) taken from the 1933 RKO film over the front-panel and spine. Slight edge wear, inscription on verso of front-free endpaper, good solid copy, complete with wrapper that has some edge wear; heavy wear with some loss at head of spine, is a little 'dusty' and has had the character name written in pencil next to their heads (this has been erased but the depressions are still visible if held at an angle to the light).

Ex-library (spine label, lending-list attached to inside edge of half-title, stamp and bar-code on half-title, stamp on verso of title-page, aprox. ž" wide 'rub' strip down inside of back-cover where, probably, a plastic cover was affixed [these slip-over the front cover]); slight tobacco smell [@20.6.8, will dissapate]; corner creases; slight page-edge browning; good reading/cutting (some good frameable pictures) copy.
