James, Philip - English Book Illustration 1800 to 1900. King Penguin (K31), 1947, 1st. 7ź" x 4ž", 72pp plus 16 'plates', monochrome illustrated paper covered boards, printed lettering, hardback. Illustrated mostly in monochrome but with a few colour; 'plates' printed on both sides. Spine sunned; very good plus (no inscriptions, no bumps, not ex-library); no wrapper (as issued I beleive [but stand to be corrected, as always] due to severe paper shortages in 1947). Very nice condition.
