Comprises 6pp text by John Rewald, including Commentary on each plate; followed by 15 tipped-in colour plates with printed plate number, brief description and location at time of printing concealed below plate. The 16th plate is on the front cover, below the cellophane. The plates are: Contes Barbares; Breton Peasant Women; The Yellow Christ; We Secret Three, Mary; Tahitian Landscape; Still Life with Flowers; The Spirit of the Dead Watches; Whispered Words; The Moon and the Earth; Nativity; and, Where Do We COme From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?. Quality materials used. 14¼" x 10¾", card covers covered in cellophane. Slight glue transfer from last plate to previous page causing 'rub' to margin of plate, no damage to actual plate; slight crease to lower-front corner of cover, fine.

In photographs and text they show us the deer park outside his rooms at Magdalen College; the Kilns, where Lewis lived most of his life; the forests and mountains and seascapes that delighted him on the walking trips he was fond of taking - and that later served as inspiration for the settings in his Narnia tales; the small parish church he attended, and next to which he was buried; the friends and colleagues who played so large a part in shaping his life. ...(Wrapper flap). 9¼" x 10¾", 192pp, pale-brown cloth, black blocked lettering, hardback. Illustrated in monochrome and colour. Ex-library, University of Nottingham (reference number written near foot of spine; 2" x 3" label on front paste-down; that's it, nothing else to the book), slight disturbance to cloth of lower-edge of front-board near fron-corner (probably from new), corners rounded, text-block edges 'browned', very good minus, complete with poor (blue library dot sellotaped near foot of spine; edges reinforced with something sililar to filmoplast; general edge-wear and creasing, 3" near central portion of spine flapping and held to front-edge only, marks, a little 'dusty') wrapper. A reasonable ex-library copy of this edition.
